Thousands of protesters return to Algiers streets demanding change

Protesters see the pair as part of the old guard that has run the North African country since independence from France in 1962. The protests, now in their 18th week, saw the end of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's rule after he stepped on April 2 under pressure from the army after the mass protests began in February.  Authorities have postponed a presidential election previously planned for July 4 because of a lack of candidates, with no new date set for the vote.
