More than 100 ISIS prisoners have fled in Syria

"We can say that the number is now over 100, We don't know where they are," US State Department envoy to Syria James Jeffrey told the House Foreign Affairs Committee when asked about the prisoners. Turkey launched an offensive in Syria after US President Donald Trump agreed to withdraw US troops allied with Syria's Kurdish Democratic Forces. Jeffrey said Kurdish militants were still guarding prisoners of the extremist group. "Almost all the prisons that were being guarded by the SDF are still secured and they are still there," he confirmed. He added: "We are monitoring the situation as much as we can. We still have elements in Syria working with the SDF and one of their priorities is these prisoners."
