Martyrs and Wounded Children in a Mine Explosion in Deir Ezzor Eastern Countryside

The deputy director of al-Assad hospital in Deir al-Zour, Dr. Essam al-Arafi, told SANA that he arrived at Deir al-Zour hospitals on Sunday noon, finding the body of a girl and 17 children were injured, two of them critically, as a result of a mine explosion left by the Islamic State terrorist organization in the village of Taibeh. Dr. Al-Arafi explained that the injuries sustained by children aged between 6 and 13 were caused by shrapnel throughout the body from a mine explosion in one of the corners of the school garden in the village. Terrorist organizations planted mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in villages, towns, and agricultural lands in areas where they were deployed, and often exploded, killing and injuring civilians.
